Protein detected in human plasma by mass spectrometryHere, we present the estimated concentrations of proteins detected in human plasma based on mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Protein concentrations were quantified by mass spectrometry-based plasma proteomics and estimated from spectral counts in the publicly available Peptide Atlas build (plasma non-glyco 2017). This data set contains estimated concentrations for 3222 proteins, including both proteins that are actively secreted to plasma, but also locally secreted proteins and intracellular proteins that leak into the blood stream. Figure 1. The plot shows the concentration rank for each protein in relation to the 3222 proteins in the Peptide Atlas plasma build (x-axis) as well as estimated concentration on an absolute scale (left y-axis) with some reference proteins denoted. The bars are coloured according to location and by using mouse-over, the concentration and category for all individual proteins are displayed. The most abundant proteins in blood - for example Albumin (40 g/l) - are not shown since they have been depleted in most samples.
