Available transcriptomic and proteomic data on GPR151 distribution in the mouse brain agree on a predominant expression in selected thalamic nuclei. In more detail, strong and selective immunolabelling of neuronal cell bodies in the medial habenula and their axonal projections in the fasciculus retroflexus to the interpeduncular nucleus is seen, together with strong axonal projections in the stria medullaris. Moreover, fine axonal networks are immunolabelled in the nucleus accumbens shell, lateral septum, central amygdala, BNST nuclei, preoptic area, thalamic paraventricular nucleus, periaqueductal gray matter, and the medullar parabrachial-pericoerulear regions.
