Broad, moderate-weak intensity diffuse/synaptic-type immunostaining is noticed throughout the forebrain in most but not all regions. Namely, the strongest signal is noticed in the hippocampus. No or only very sparse signal is noticed in the medial septum-VDB, and in some thalamic nuclei.
In the brainstem, the moderate-intensity diffuse/synaptic immunostaining is restricted to the periaqueductal gray matter, substantia nigra, and the dorsal part of the medulla (including the locus coeruleus-parabrachial region).
In the cerebellum, the signal is restricted to the molecular layer.
